English wine is the fermented juice of freshly picked grapes grown in England and Wales. The wines are available from the vineyards and (occasionally) from supermarkets - Tesco and Waitrose being the best for variety though have a look at the Hop Pocvket, English Wine Centre and Orchard Hive & Vine sites. The majority of wines are white, though there are a few quality reds beginning to appear. There is also a growing trend towards satisfying the supposed shortage of sparkling wine for the Millenium - see the
page of Sparkling wine For any of them you will get a warm welcome and , in many cases, an enthusiastic talk on wine production without crossing the channel .
