Castle Brook is a 2.4 ha vineyard in the Coughton Valley near Ross-on-Wye.Sales are online or in the farm shop.
The name derives from the nearby Penyard Castle, an ancient ruin with a long history and romantic stories:
A cave hidden under the castle contains a vast horde of gold and gems. The wealth is protected by a large bird which never sleeps, and attacks any who come too close to discovering the cave.
The wine produced is a sparkling wine, whose pedigree is guaranteed by the consultant, Mike Roberts, one of the two great pioneers of English Sparkling wine. It is available at local stores or online at the vineyard's own web site
