Britain's Sparkling Future

Twenty years ago, few could have foreseen that the future of Britain's wine industry lay with sparkling wine. This view was changed by two vineyards. Stuart and Sandy Moss developed Nyetimber as a producer of First Class sparkling wine. They were followed by Mike Roberts at Ridgeview. These two, now accompanied by Hush Heath, have an unrivalled reputation for consistency and class.
By 2020, there will be many more who will challenge both the pioneers, and even the French as the chalklands of Sussex, Kent and Hampshire are developed as the 'Sparkling wine' belt of Britain.
Note that only vineyards specialising in 'Classic' grapes are shown on this map. For other vineyards in this area, see the Sussex and Kent screens

All of the above grow only Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier unless stated. Note that most are NOT open to the public as they are fairly recently planted. The following are currently releasing wines:
  • Nyetimber Not open to the public
