Hersdman Vineyard is currently the most northerly on the west side of England. The vineyard produced its first small crop in 2014 and is not yet commercial.
Pilling lies north of Fleetwood in the area know as 'Over-Wyre'. Its best claim to fame is that it once had a railway known as 'the Pilling Pig' because of the squeal of the whistle on the locomotive.
